Moving and grooving

November 7th, 2007 · 1 Comment

P1010012 Major changes continue to happen aboard our loving (most of the time) home. Propane stove officially fired up, hot cocoa all around :)  Arriving this AM to ice coated, slippery slidey decks! Why are we doing this again, oh yes…. for theP1010015 fun in the sun that will soon be ours or at the guaranteed minimum ice storms, frostbite and sub zero bonechills! This is our mast flying on the left, taken out today to ensure she would not disinegrate at the step after perhaps 18 years, eeek….on a less scary scale windlass put back together with myself watching intently as first task tomorrow shall be sort of like a jigsaw puzzle but this time our life may some day depend on the success rate as I will attempt to take apart, paint, grease and reassemble, (blindfolded and on drugs, jk) so when crisis strikes we will be ready. Electrical charging system mapped and up to snuff, stanchion work, navigation lights, overboardP1010013 discharge overhaul (sorry about that smell Jordi and Sverre, do you think it will make a good beer chugging aparatus though, look left and make the call). Todays lesson: What is the difference between a nipple, bushing andP1010014 coupler? Gorgeous weather for the most part other than  a small sprinkle and cloudy skis in the mid afternoon, a surprise visit from the best boat broker in the state Amanda and I thik that about rounds it out.Tomorrow entails further electrical,, propane, bilge, heads, stanchions, maybe some single side band lessons and anymore?…for sure.. Thanks for reading!

Nice work fellas! It brings back good memories to see people bundled up working on boats in ME. The site looks great, nice work with the blogs. Can’t wait to hear how the adventure turns out. Let me know what ports you are hitting heading south and in the Caribbean!
